Peace of mind through our professional, customer-focussed approach.
You may not have given this much thought before now but the inconvenience caused by not having full use of your property will only become apparent when the services are interrupted.
Before work gets underway, whether for an insurance claim or otherwise, it’s important you know exactly what to expect from us. We’ve put together a rough guide of 'things you should know' so as to give you peace of mind about our professional service and to explain the process to you. Here's what you can expect:
- Once the works have been approved, Lambert Contracts will oversee every aspect of your project from start to finish
- You will be assigned a dedicated Surveyor and Repair Handler alongside a team of foremen who will monitor the repairs at your home from start to completion
- We’ll keep you up to date with the progress of your project with regular text/e-mail alerts
- Our employees drive liviried vans and wear photographic I.D at all times
- We follow strict Health and Safety Guidelines
- All work is guaranteed for 12 months
- Before programming the repairs we will contact you to discuss choice of materials and finishes including wallpaper and tiles. In most cases, we will order items in advance to avoid delays
- If the works involve re-tiling, we will only commence work when we have taken delivery of the tiles, this allows us to prepare a programme of works for you. This will ensure the disruption caused to you is reduced
- We also must make you aware that it is common, that once we start the work to find more damage than first anticipated, this can be due to a number of factors, however if this occurs we will have to contact your insurers to make them aware. They will then request a report from us
- In all instances we will attempt to minimise your inconvenience by re-installing your services on a temporary basis. Depending on your particular situation this may not always be possible. If this occurs we will advise you of your options
- If we are carrying out work in more than one room in your home, please note we that we will usually start with the bathroom
If we are carrying out tiling works, please note:
Wall Tiles
If we are tiling your walls the following should be considered: we have made allowances of £20.00m2 for the purchase of your tiles. Should the tiles you select be over the allocated allowance you may be liable to pay the extra costs. In older properties where the walls may be uneven, we advise against the selection of the large tiles which are currently being sold.
Border tiles and Décor Tiles
Please only select border tiles or décor tiles if you previously had them. If you have border tiles, please could you mark the wall at the height you would like the border tile to be at. Please also mark the walls where you would like the décor tiles to be.
Grout, Trim and Adhesive
We will supply all of the above, however, you must inform us of which colour of grout (grey or white) you would prefer for your tiles. Unless a colour is stated we will assume that your tile trim will be white. The trim we supply is standard tile trim, if you select chrome/brass trim you will be liable for the additional purchase costs. (This is based on the assumption that it was not initially there). Unless a colour is stated we will assume that your tile trim will be white. When the tiling is complete, we again ask you to mark the walls where you would like your accessories put (towel rail etc).
Floor Tiles
If we are tiling your floor, the following should be considered: we have made an allowance of £25.00m2 for the purchase of your tiles. Should the tiles you select be over the allocated allowances you may be liable to pay the extra costs.
Porcelain Tiles
If the tiles you select are porcelain tiles additional costs will be incurred which your insurers may not pay. This can be as much as £500 for a standard bathroom. The reasons for the additional costs are due to the fact that these tiles have to be machine cut & each hole drilled can take 30-60mins to drill. The additional charges will be incurred for plant hire labour and special drill bits. Our advice is that if you don’t currently have porcelain tiles then please select ceramic tiles.
Selecting Your Tiles
We enclose a list of suppliers which we have accounts with, we request you visit them to select your tiles. Once you have selected them, complete the attached pro-forma & return it to us either by fax or post. We suggest you take this with you when purchasing your tiles to enable you to complete the form whilst in the store. Should you wish not to use a supplier that we have an account with, then we require you to purchase the tiles and have them delivered. Upon receipt of your VAT invoice we will send you a cheque to reimburse you.
