Promoting good practice in Health and Safety.
Lambert Contracts complies with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and other relevant legislations, meeting the current standards required to protect all of our employees and any person likely to be affected by our work operations.
Our company policy is to attain and maintain the highest standards of health and safety performance throughout the company. To highlight our commitment to health and safety, we are members of CHAS, Construction Line and SAFEcontractor. These accreditations are reviewed and assessed annually, which helps us to ensure the standards expected of employees and sub contractors who undertake works on our behalf remain of the highest. Health and Safety matters at Lambert Contracts include:
- Providing relevant training for all employees in a structured way
- Providing immediate advice on any safety critical issue
- Induction of all new employees on company health and safety procedures and policies
- Monitoring of the workplace on a regular basis
- Ensuring appropriate work methods and risk assessments are carried out
- Ensuring employees are fully aware of health and safety procedures and have a personal copy of the company policy booklet covering health and safety and driving at work
- Ensuring all company vehicles are issued with a full set of method statements, risk assessments and relevant COSHH sheets relevant to their trade
- Providing full Construction Design and Management 2007 (CDM) infrastructure to ensure compliance with principal contractor's legal duties
- Regular Monitoring of sub contractors to ensure they have robust health and safety procedures in place
- Investigation of any accidents, dangerous occurences, notifiable or not, with a view to removing or reducing future occurences
- Co-operation with external independent assessors to ensure our health and safety procedures and practices are fully compliant
- Monthly management meetings to review, discuss, assess and or update any health and safety procedures/polices
- Collating feedback from our workforce on any safety issues
